Employee Benefits
The Franklin Companies offer a full array of benefits, including the following:
Health, Dental and Vision Insurance
Full-time employees—those regularly scheduled for 32 hours per week or more—are eligible for medical, dental and vision insurance coverage beginning the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
The company contributes a percentage of the costs in compliance with Federal guidelines. The employee pays a specific dollar amount each month for the policies she/he selects. The cost to the employee is paid through payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis.
Supplemental Insurance
The company also makes available certain supplemental insurance policies such as accident and short-term disability plans. Supplemental insurance is available to all employees. Employees are responsible for 100% of the costs for such plans. Eligibility begins on the first day of the month after 60 days of employment.
401(k) Retirement Savings
Franklin offers all full-time employees the opportunity to contribute to a 401(k) plan. Contributions are made through payroll deductions.
Paid Time Off
All regular, full-time employees accrue paid time off each pay period to use for illness, vacation or other personal needs. Accrual rates increase with years of employment. During years 1 – 4, employees can accrue up to 120 hours per year.
Holiday Pay
Some departments operate during holidays due to business necessity. Franklin recognizes seven holidays during the year which qualify for holiday pay:
New Year’s Day, Easter, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day
Non-exempt (hourly) staff who work on these holidays are paid one and a half times their normal rate of pay for hours worked. Employees who work in departments that are closed on a designated holiday are paid their normal rate of pay for that day if she/he would have been regularly scheduled on that day. Salaried employees receive salary continuation on designated holidays.
Tuition Assistance Policy
After one year of employment, salaried and full-time hourly employees may apply for tuition assistance for job-related coursework completed at an accredited college or technical school. The employee must receive a passing grade and remain with the company for at least 90 days following course completion.
Bereavement Leave
Every full-time employee is offered up to three days of paid leave in the event of a death in his/her immediate family.
